The project is set in Yayladagi, Hatay Province, an area suffering from a lack of economic opportunities, with an added burden of refugees. 20 women will go on to receive small grants to set up their own individual entrepreneurial project on condition that they hire one worker and thus contribute towards the goal of alleviating economic hardship in the community. During the second phase of the project, the number of beneficiaries will be increased to reach 100 women.
Just prior to the outbreak of Covid-19, the project reached to stage of production of household fabric items to be sold in the local market. However, with the onset of Covid-19, to support the local authorities’ requirements for the production of masks, the project has since switched to producing masks to meet the increasing demand. Normal activity is expected to resume soon.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
